Getting there  

Public transport 

We encourage the use of public transport due to limited parking at Commonwealth Park. Consider your journey to the Reconciliation Day event with Transport Canberra. Please check the Transport Canberra websitefor the timetables for public holidays. 

Parking 

There is limited parking available at Commonwealth Park (Regatta Point). The carpark will close once it is filled. There is additional parking a short walk from Commonwealth Park at: 

  • Barrine Drive

  • Canberra Olympic Pool carpark 

  • CIT carkpark

Road closures 

Whilst there are no road closures in place for this event, please be aware that construction work around the city may impact how you get to Commonwealth Park. For more information view the latest updates on Travel Impacts. 

Accessibility

We are dedicated to making the Reconciliation Day event accessible and welcoming for everyone. 

Accessible Parking 

Accessible parking is conveniently located at Regatta Point (Regatta Place). A valid disability permit must be displayed. Additional accessible parking is available further from the event at:  

  • Constitution Place: access via the Constitution Avenue end of Theatre Lane
  • Civic Pool: Allara Street

Accessible Toilets 

Accessible toilets are conveniently located at three locations across the event site.  

  • Regatta Point in the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre
  • Near the Speaking Marquee *
  • Near the Ferry Gate Stage

*There will also be a Changing Place facility (fully accessible toilet room) available  on-site  near the Speaking Marquee.

Quiet Spaces 

Need a moment of calm? Visit the quiet spaces available on site.  These spaces are Ideal for visitors with sensory sensitivities, parents, or anyone needing a break.

  • Near the Information Tent
  • Regatta Point in the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre
  • Open during festival hours

Family areas

A family space including a baby changing area is available at Regatta point inside the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre.
